We are a team of six members
from different technical backgrounds, who have been selected by Demola, Tampere
(Finland) to work on a project ‘Wearable Innovation’. Our project partner is
Sami Mannisto, who represents Suunto.
Suunto is an eighty year old Finnish company founded
by Tuomas Vohlonen. The company is known for its very robust products. The
caption of the company ‘highest mountains and deepest oceans’ give us an idea
of the durability of the products Suunto produces. The company mainly produces
sports watches, dive computers, compasses and precision instruments. Suunto is
known for its products worldwide and hence an international company. A link to
the company’s website is provided below:
Demola has chosen an
international team to work on the project ‘Wearable Innovation’. Therefore, our
cultural diversity makes it quite easy to analyze a situation from different
point of view. First of all the team members like to introduce themselves:
I’m Jenni Häkli
and it’s my second year in University of Tampere. My major is Administrative
Science, but I’m also studying Business and Russian. I’m the Team Lead in the Wearable Innovation
Platform project, so it’s obvious that I’m trying to get this group of people
working as a team. I really want us to find the harmony, create something
original and succeed in this project. The main goal for me is to finish our project
so well that Suunto wants to license our concept. I want to step out of my
comfort zone and improve my project working skills!
My name is Khurshid
Ali Qureshi. I
am studding at TUT and my major is Factory Automation and Industrial
Informatics. My goal in this project would be to learn how a Finnish company
like Suunto deals in a declining market of Finland. I would like my
contributions in the project to be technical. I can code. I have ample
experience with JavaScript
(including Angular JS and Node JS) and I have a frontend development experience
with HTML and CSS.
I am Anita Vincent currently pursuing my Master’s in Communications
Systems and Networks from Tampere University of Technology, Finland. I am very
much excited to be a part of this project offered by Suunto to do something innovative. I am involved in Communication related
topics in this project. Sensors being one of them. Creating devices which
require communication and networking always require sensors, IC (Integrated
Circuit) and antennas. So looking forward to the creation of new Digitalized Innovative Wearable
Technology!

I am Jisoo
Kim. As I am interested in Art and
Design. I can suggest ideas about designable ways (like sports watches,
outdoor clothes designs and making posters about our work). I can organise what
we have done in our group to our blog. I can adjust my experience to our
project as I like sports and sports wear. Co-operation with each other is an
important aspect to make good results together, hence my aim is to maintain a
good teamwork. Nice teamwork always brings good result at the end. Even we
couldn’t get any successful outputs. We must have extraordinary opinions which
help Suunto’s future a lot. Contrary If we had great one and we estimated as
one of the best group It would be honored and this imaginations would be
motivations of our work! Also I want to feel fulfillment of own projects
through Suunto and could
how company is working.

I am Manni
Jaspreet Singh, I have studied M.Sc.
software development in Tampere University. Previously, I completed a project
in Demola for Nokia research center.
Hi, I am Md Moniruzzaman Tanim. I am doing my MSc in Electrical Engineering. My focus area is Wireless communication, RF Circuits . In the Wearable Innovation Platform team, I want to play a vital role for developing and designing innovative wearable platform ideas for consumer ends. I surely think this project work will give me a comprehensive idea about team work, generating new ideas, wearable market. This real life project work with Suunto will enhance my engineering knowledge, wearable concept, communication skills and give me a concrete shape of my studies.Finger Crossed...
